WARS > The Fifth Wars
The Fifth Wars activated with a big
rumble. It was battles galore, I loved it. In this page of the site, I have
told you the improvements made to this series, what robots fought in each
heat and I have reported on each heat giving you every bit of info about
the heats so enjoy the read!
Improvements
It has been greatly improved,
new set, new hazards, improved house 'bots and more action.
Philippa is back as pit
reporter reporting on battles and robots. They have cut this chit chat
between battles so there is less of it than before which was (in my
opinion) a good idea so we can get to more action faster and see some more
carnage and less of the talk which sometimes can drag on.
The differences to the set
(apart from it looks much better and that it is much more sturdier) are
the doors which allow access to the arena for the contestant and house
robots and also the upper platforms for Craig to do his talking bit and
for the contestants to control their robots.
The arena hazards are mainly
the same as before. The flame pit, the arena flipper and the grinders are
all back. The new editions to the arena are the CO2 jets which
jet gas up from the floor of the arena at high pressure damaging robots
which get stuck on them. The pit has also been modified so it can be
lowered when a contestant robot presses the pit release button when they
think they can get their opposition into the pit and out or if they have
no other choice. The CPZs are back but this time, only two house robots
(three, if you include Refbot) are in the arena per battle.
The rules have bee slightly
modified with the most noticeable rule being the weight limit rise from
80kg to 100kg allowing for more weapons to be added. This extra weight
does mean that the arena flipper has to work harder and Sir K is more
vulnerable to being flipped over. When it is picking up another robot,
it's back comes off the arena floor as it is top heavy.
The format has changed
slightly. Now there are eight robots per heat and seven battles per heat
allowing for more action than ever before. They did this by scrapping the
pinball and the competitions that were in between battles in the last
series. First, there are four eliminating rounds with two robots fighting
in each battle, one robot is eliminated from each battle and the winners
go on to the next round. The four remaining robots fight in two battles
with two robots in each battle. The two remaining robots go through to the
final fight and the winner of this battle goes through to the semi-finals.
The team of nine House
Roboteers (headed by Chris Reynolds) of the BBC Special Effects department
have improved the house robots for the Fifth Wars. Refbot has the most
noticeable improvements. This robot now has a red, yellow and green light
being held by its claw. At the start of battles after "Three, two,
one, activate" has been called, the green light comes on allowing the
battle to commence. The red light is used to count a robot out. If a robot
has been immobilised for longer than ten seconds, it is counted out.
Refbot also counts out these robots now using its digital counter on its
front which counts out a robot when it reaches 10 on the counter. The
yellow light is shown when a house robot misbehaves, for example, it
attacks a contestant robot when it isn't in the CPZ and the contestant
robot isn't immobilised. The yellow light is shown as a warning to the
house robot. The red light is then shown to the house robot if it
misbehaves for the second time during the same battle and if this happens,
the house robot is sent back into its CPZ and the naughty robot isn't
allowed to come out to play again. Refbot still has its plough to get two
robots apart if they become stuck together and it still has its fire
extinguisher to put out fires at the end of fights. The other house 'bots
have had minor improvements. Matilda has a new weapon up her bottom. The
25kg flywheel (like Hypno-Disc's disc but vertical) replaces her chainsaw
that she had in previous wars. This new weapon is more destructive and it
spins at a speed of about 600rpm. It is very powerful. On one of the test
days, Matilda reversed into the barriers and literally ripped the whole
thing up! When they were filming the American series of Robot Wars,
"Robot Wars: Extreme Warriors" Series 1, Matilda accidentally
reversed into Shunt and ripped the whole of one of the sides off, which
gave the BBC special effects department (the team responsible for the
house robots) about four hours of repair work to poor old Shunt. Matilda's
tusks have also been upgraded for the Fifth Wars so they work faster and can
flip more. Sgt Bash has been improved too. The jaws have been re-made to a
better quality and using a better quality steel of a very high
specification. They re-made the jaws because before, every time the jaws
closed, they bent up the other side of the chassis. Sgt Bash has also been
re-built around the front end with stainless steel pins through it to stop
it all bending. The big daddy of all the house robots, Sir K has had its
batteries moved from the front to the back to give extra weight to the
back. This is so it doesn't flip over as much when it picks up robots due
to the extra weight limit. Repositioning the weight hopefully should mean
that Sir K can pick robots better again. Dead Metal has been improved by
having a new hydraulic ram fitted to the front of it. This new ram gives
the pincers better closing power. They can also now take much more knocks
and bangs. Shunt has had the least changes to it. A thicker plough and
scoop has been added to it built from a far thicker steel.

Fifth Wars Seeds
Here
are the seeds for the Fifth Wars:
Heat A
Transmission date on BBC 2:
24/05/02
Robots: Chaos 2,
Storm, SMIDSY,
Obsidian, 8645T, T-Bone, Steel Avenger,
Tartan Terror
Winner of this Heat: Chaos 2
A spectacular beginning to the
new series of Robot Wars. The second round had Chaos 2 Vs Steel Avenger
and 8645T Vs SMIDSY (the four winning robots from the first round of
fights). Chaos 2 gave us a flipping good time flipping Steel Avenger out
of the arena breaking one of the studio lights in the process and SMIDSY
beat 8645T (which reads BEAST if you look at it long enough, that is where
the name of the robot comes from and SMIDSY stands for Sorry Mate, I
Didn't See You, which was built on the Internet). So, the final battle:
Chaos 2 Vs SMIDSY. Chaos 2 managed to get SMIDSY hanging off one of the
arena side walls, Chaos 2 went in to flip SMIDSY out of the arena but it
flipped itself over by mistake - stalemate! Neither robot could move and
both were still mobile at the end of the fight so the judges called for a
re-match. Chaos 2 did manage to get SMIDSY out of the arena this time and
congratulations to Chaos 2, the winners of Heat a who will go on to the
semi-finals.
Heat B
Transmission date on BBC 2:
31/05/02
Robots: Hypno-Disc,
Black Widow, Juggernot 2, Bulldog Breed 2,
Wowot, Lambsy, Atomic,
Kan-Opener
Winner of this Heat: Hypno-Disc
Hypno-Disc came on first
showing its true potential and working really well chopping the legs off
Black Widow and so it went into the second round. The other winners which
followed Hypno-Disc into the second round were Atomic (which battled
against Hypno-Disc in this round), and Lambsy which battled Bulldog Breed
2 in this round. Hypno-Disc showed off well again completely trashing
Atomiic by chopping off its flipper, making big gaps and holes down the
side and finally pushing it down the pit, well done Hypno-Disc. Then
Bulldog Breed 2 gave us a good battle finishing off Lambsy. The final
battle: Hypno-Disc Vs Bulldog Breed 2. Hypno-Disc went in for the kill, it
punctured the sides of Bulldog Breed 2 damaging the robot and it managed
to break the back off the Bulldog robot pulling out something important in
the process which immobilised it so Hypno-Disc had won. Spin to win, Hypno-Disc
as you go through to the semis!
Heat C
Transmission date on BBC 2:
07/06/02
Robots: Stinger,
Hippobotomus, General Carnage, Guzunderbot,
S3, Plunderbird 5,
Mousetrap, Shredder
Winner of this Heat: S3
The Plunderbird boys were back
for the first battle of this heat but it is a shame we didn't see much of
them (because they are a good laugh) because they went out to the
new robot on the block, S3. S3, the new members to the Robot Wars family
performed exceptionally well, showing off their robot and proving that
they can beat other robots who have had a few years experience! So, S3
went to the heat semi-finals and so did Stinger, General Carnage and Mouse
Trap. Stinger did well beating General Carnage by spinning around and
completely bashing them. S3 and Mouse Trap had an action packed fight.
Mouse Trap's blade got stuck over S3's incredibly destructive vertical
disc which did stop for a few minutes due to Mouse Trap's blue coil
getting stuck around S3's disc. Anyway, S3 won on a judges' decision
because it caused so much more damage to Mouse Trap by ripping its armour
up and weapon using the brilliant disc on S3. So, it came to the heat
final and could S3 beat the boys with the experience, Stinger? Yes they
could! A great battle with S3 bashing up Stinger knocking something inside
Stinger making it become immobilised and so S3 had won. Some how, the
arena flipper brought Stinger back to life, but it was too late and S3 had
won the heat - well done lads!
Heat D
Transmission date on BBC 2:
21/06/02
Robots: Firestorm 3,
Bee-Capitator, Sir Chromalot,
Rohog, Bot Out of Hell, Reactor 2,
Gemini,
Ruf Ruf Dougal
Winner of this Heat: Firestorm 3
After the action packed first
rounds, Firestorm 3 was left who had a fight with Sir Chromalot and Reactor
2 was left to fight the clusterbot Gemini. It was a very exciting round
two and it was flippin' fantastic with Gemini flipping all over the place
and Sir Chromalot doing some great flipping too. Gemini, unfortunately,
flipped too much and got stuck in a position where they were unable to
self-right. This happened to both of the robots so they were out of the
competition. Firestorm 3 beat the good sports in suits, Sir Chromalot so
it went to a Reactor 2 Vs Firestorm 3 final. This was full of carnage and
non-stop action but at the end, Firestorm 3 emerged on top and they will
go through to the series semi-finals, congratulations on their wonderful
win!
Heat E
Transmission date on BBC 2:
12/07/02
Robots: Wild Thing,
Trouble &
Strife, Velocirippa, Alien,
Napalm, Warhog, Thermidor 2,
Prizephita MK2
Winner of this Heat: Wild Thing
Four robots were knocked out
of the eliminator rounds and four went through to the next battles. Wild
Thing easily beat Napalm 2 because of damage that Napalm suffered in
earlier battles so they became immobilised very quickly ad Wild Thing went
through to the heat final with Prizephita Mach 2 who won against The Alien
because The Alien were unable to self-right. The final was a very close
one and would have been tough for the judges to decide. Prizephita were on
top throughout much of the battle pushing Wild Thing and flipping them
over but Wild Thing have a wonderful self righting mechanism and were able
to self right each time they were flipped over. They then got on top of
Prizephita pushing them into the grinders on the arena side wall and
pushing them around the arena very close to the pit. It went to a judges
decision and Wild Thing won it. Well done, Wild Thing go through to the
series semi-finals.
Heat F
Transmission date on BBC 2:
16/08/02
Robots: Dominator 2,
Derek, King B Powerworks,
Kronic 2, 13 Black,
Corkscrew, X-Terminator 2,
Imortalis
Winner of this Heat: Dominator 2
This was an exciting heat.
After the first group of battles which knocked eight down to four,
X-Terminator 2 won on a judges decision to Corkscrew (the new comer) and
Dominator 2 had an axing good time piercing King B Powerworks a few times
which won them the judges decision. Dominator 2 went through to the heat
final against the lucky Corkscrew robot. Semi-finalist against new comer,
it was a great fight. Dominator 2 managed to axe them a few times damaging
Corkscrew a bit as the new robot tried to run away from the mighty axe of
Dominator 2 who was also pushing them into Shunt's and Sir K's CPZs to
allow the house bots to do damage too. Dominator 2 then used its axe to
put Corkscrew on their side. They were unable to self right so Dominator 2
had won. Well done on their worthy win as Corkscrew was left for the house
robots to finish off and the Dominator 2 lads knew they were through to
the series semi-finals as they had won this heat. Craig then did his usual
poem to end the show, "The world is governed by rules and laws but we
burn the book here on Robot Wars" and that was another action packed,
carnage full show over for another week!
Heat G
Transmission date on BBC 2:
23/08/02
Robots: Tornado,
Gravedigger, Diotoir,
Dome, Evolution, Sabre-Tooth, Hydra,
Spawn Again
Winner of this Heat: Spawn Again
What a heat this was! Full of
action packed carnage and destruction, it was the best yet! Sgt Bash and
Sir K ended up getting yellow cards each from the Ref for attacking
contestant robots when they weren't in the CPZ or immobilised. You also
got to see Craig's son, Jack! In the eliminators, Gravedigger were
cremated then buried, Dome were flipped and then pitted, Sabre-Tooth was
destroyed by the house robots and Hydra lost too. The second round was
excellent. Who would have believed that Diotoir would beat the 12 seeds,
Tornado? Well, they did. They were performing the best I have ever seen.
They used brilliant tactics and skills to hit the pit release button and
then carefully push Tornado into the pit. Tornado was finding it hard
gripping to the arena floor which made it easier for the Irish boys. Spawn
Again won against Evolution by flipping them right out of the arena with
their excellent flipper and all over within 20 seconds! Brilliant
entertainment! So, Diotoir and Spawn Again left to fight in the series
final. Spawn went straight in with the flipper and flipped over the
flammable red and black spotted robot over. They were unable to self right
because they didn't have a self righting mechanism (which is essential in
Robot Wars). Spawn Again then left Diotoir to be destroyed by the house
robots, Sgt Bash and Matilda. It was burnt, crushed and then finally
pitted. Diotoir are out and Spawn Again are through to the series
semi-finals!
Heat H
Transmission date on BBC 2:
30/08/02
Robots: Wheely Big Cheese,
Wolverine, Axe-Awe, Grannies Revenge,
Robochicken-evo, Crushtacean, Behemoth,
Supernova
Winner of this Heat: Wheely Big Cheese
This was one of the best heats
I have ever seen! Everything was just brilliant. There was loads of
carnage, sparks, action and robot destruction. It was mechanized mayhem!
In the Eliminators, Wheely Big Cheese won against Wolverine by flipping it
within 20 seconds out of the arena. Axe-Awe didn't need to do much to beat
Grannies Revenge. She went up in flames filling the arena with clouds of
smoke before she went in the pit with the Refbot. I have never seen
anything like that in Robot Wars before. There was so much fire!
Crushtacean won against the not so series Robochicken-evo and the 15
seeds, Behemoth won against Supernova. In the Heat H Semi-Finals, Wheely
Big Cheese (who can flip over a Mini Metro car) managed to flip Axe-Awe at
least 15 feet into the air form the middle of the arena before it landed
outside of the arena bending all the protective material which protects
the audience from bits flying out of the arena into the audience. It was
all over in 10 or so seconds. I have never seen a flipper like it!
Behemoth surprisingly went out to the crab like robot, Crushtacean who is
quite hi-tech because the operators of the robot control its claws with
hand movements instead of a radio control device. Anyway, Behemoth lost
because Crushtacean pushed them into the arena side wall and they were
unable to self right. So, to the Heat H Final which was Wheely Big Cheese
Vs Crushtacean. The big cheese's flipper didn't seem to be flipping things
as high as before but it didn't matter because they still showed us a
superb performance by beating the crab. First, the crab was pushed into
Dead Metal (the scorpion of Robot Wars) which did some damage and then
eventually they were pushed into the pit by the great cheese who go
through to the series semi finals. Well done to Wheely Big Cheese, the
winners of this heat!
Heat I
Transmission date on BBC 2:
06/09/02
Robots: Splinter,
Viper 01, Bigger Brother,
Tip-Top, Onslaught, Tetanus, 3 Stegs 2 Heaven,
Eleven
Winner of this Heat: Bigger Brother
Perfect flipping action in
this heat! After the Eliminators, it was the Heat Semi-Finals and Bigger
Brother won against Splinter by completely flipping him up and out of the
arena. They did a lot of that by the way! The experienced 3 Stegs 2 Heaven
(new robot though) won against the rusty Tetanus. Some of the claws of
Tetanus snapped off when they bent down on 3 Stegs 2 Heaven. It was the
perfect beast of a robot! So, with 3 Stegs 2 Heaven and Bigger Brother
left, it was the Heat Final. Bigger Brother showed off flipping the
dinosaur robot over and also managing to flip over Shunt! They also had a
go at Sir K who was furious and chased Bigger Brother all the way around
the arena. Sir K was too heavy to flip over! Anyway, after all that
action, well done to Bigger Brother who won not only the fight (by
flipping 3 Stegs 2 Heaven over a lot and pinning them on the arena side
wall) but they also won the heat and are through with all the big boys to
the Series Semi-Finals!
Heat J
Transmission date on BBC 2:
13/09/02
Robots: Mega
Morg, Kat 3,
Tiberious, Monad, Major Tom,
Kliptonite, Panic Attack,
Barberous
Winner of this Heat: Panic
Attack
This was the heat of the
driving skills! The Eliminators had their normal amount of action
eliminating four out of the eight robots. The Heat Semis were full of
carnage too. Kat 3 won against Major Tom and Panic Attack showed off their
driving skills and experience by carefully carrying Tiberious all around
the arena, hitting the pit release button and lowering them into the pit.
Perfect control as usual from Kim Davis on the Panic Attack team! Panic
Attack did the same again to the big Kat 3 machine. Panic Attack was
carefully maneuvered around the arena using their weapons at the right
times and then they lowered Kat 3 into the pit. This skill and their
clever tactics made them win the Heat Final, win the heat and made them go
through to the Series Semi Finals.
Heat K
Transmission date on BBC 2:
27/09/02
Robots: Razer, Big Nipper,
Sumpthing, Widow's Revenge, Axe-C-Dent, Destruct-a-Bubble,
Suicidal Tendencies, Rick
Winner of this Heat: Razer
This (in my opinion) was one
of the most destructive heats in the Fifth Wars! There is so much to say,
I don't know where to begin! The penultimate heat was full of action. In
the first round (the Eliminators), Razer crushed Big Nipper, Widow's
Revenge and Sump Thing both didn't cause any damage or sustain any damage
but something came off Sump Thing which stopped it worked as it should so
the Razer team wives won that battle. I say wives because they are. They
were sick and tired of the Razer boys being in the shed all day and all
night modifying Razer so their partners wanted their revenge and build
their own robot - Widow's Revenge. Anyway, back to the heat, the next
battle was between Axe-C-Dent and Destruct-a-Bubble. Axe-C-Dent became
immobilized so the big yellow ball won. In the next fight, Suicidal
Tendencies won against Rick causing more damage and destruction to their
opposition. So, down to the heat semi-finals. Razer completely smashed and
trashed their wives' machine - Widow's Revenge so the Razer boys have no
home to go to now! The damage sustained to Widow's Revenge was immense.
Matilda's fantastic flywheel managed to help Razer in producing all that
lovely carnage. Those ladies weren't pleased because of their fridge on
wheels becoming no different to the sight you would see on a scrap yard.
Suicidal Tendencies developed engine troubles so couldn't proceed in the
heat so Rick was reinstated and they won against Destruct-a-Bubble who was
immobilized because of their power failing. They were flipped and put into
the pit. Shunt helped out Rick with Destruct-a-Bubble but was red carded
by the Refbot because Shunt wasn't in his CPZ. Shunt was sent back into
his CPZ but he wasn't pleased with Refbot and had a little go at him!
Anyway, Rick won and went into the heat final against the world champion,
the mighty Razer! No prizes for correctly guessing who won this battle.
Razer of course! They caused maximum damage and carnage to Rick who was
completely destroyed. Razer even had time to have a go at Sir Killalot but
no one can beat Sir K and the big daddy of all the house robots wasn't
having it and so Razer and Sir Killalot had a fight! Razer tried to crush
some hydraulic tubes on Sir K and also his claw but had no effect and Sir
K had his way and dumped Razer into the pit. It doesn't matter about that
loss, Razer still had won the battle against Rick so had won the heat and
won a place in the semi-final!!
Heat L
Transmission date on BBC 2:
04/10/02
Robots: Pussycat,
The Executioner, Ming
3, Terrorhurtz,
Clawed Hopper, Twister, 101,
Fluffy
Winner of this Heat: Pussycat
The last heat before the
semi-finals! It was not one to be forgotten. It was full of destructive
action. Jonathan Pearce's commentary was as excellent as usual and so was
Craig's presenting of the show. It was carnage from start to finish.
Firstly, Pussycat chopped up The Executioner and won that battle. Matilda
(who was hungry for carnage) used her fantastic (and underestimated)
flywheel to chop up The Executioner even more and Pussycat went through to
the next round. Ming 3 (a Razer look a like) got trashed in this battle by
the brilliant, big axed, Terrorhurtz. Matilda got a red card in this
battle and a smack on the rear end because she was misbehaving too much in
this fight. She attacked the competitor robots several times when they
were no where near the CPZ. Don't worry, she did get a right old telling
off back stage. Anyway, back to the battles, Terrorhurtz won and went
through to the next round. Clawed Hopper surprised us all to become the
first ever waling robot in history to get through the first round when
they beat Twister. 101 was completely smashed and trashed by the amazing
Fluffy who was extremely destructive and ripped of 101's tracks and caused
big gashes down 101's side. In the heat semi finals, Fluffy won against
Terrorhurtz by bashing them up with their amazing chopping disc and
Pussycat chopped up Clawed Hopper who's weapon fell off in this fight. And
after all that action (and the humour of Shunt going into the pit in one
of the fights, (back to driving school for you Shunt!)), it is time to go
to the heat final: Pussycat Vs Fluffy. Fluffy chopped off Pussycat's
spinning circular saw so now Pussycat was weaponless and I thought that
they had no hope now top fill the final place in the series semi finals
but then a surprise happened, something went wrong with Fluffy and they
were counted out by the Refbot as they had become immobilised! Pussycat
had won! Dead Metal finished off Fluffy by putting it into the pit of doom
and Dead Metal also went in with them! Pussycat are the winners of Heat L
and go to the series semi finals which I am so greatly looking forward
to!!
And now the
series semi-finals...
Six robots (out of 12) who got a
place in the series semi-finals appear in the first semi-final and only
two will win a place in the grand final. The other six robots will be in
the second semi final and two from that will also win a place in the grand
final. In the semi finals, there are three battles involving the six
robots. The losers of each of these battles play in a three way loser's
melee. The winner of the loser's melee wins a place in the semi final
final and the three winners from the other previous fights of the semi
final also earn places in the semi final final. The winner of each of the
final of the semi final (in total, there will be two robots) will win a
place in the grand final.

Robots: S3,
Chaos 2, Razer,
Bigger Brother, Wild Thing,
Spawn Again
Qualifiers for the Grand
Final: Razer and Bigger Brother
This was one of the best
episodes of Robot Wars ever where the best robots ever built come out to
fight. This show involved some of the greatest battles of all time. It was
a shock when Chaos 2 were out. They ran out of CO2 gas towards
the end of the Bigger Brother Vs Chaos 2 fight and they could self right
so they were put into the pit and they were out. Bigger Brother is a
fantastic machine. The best battle of the show has to be the Chaos 2 Vs
Wild Thing battle. This was awesome destruction because Chaos 2 flipped
Wild Thing all over the place! Razer was also on top form inflicting
destruction to anything that moved in the arena and that was made out of
metal!

Robots: Panic
Attack, Dominator 2, Hypno-Disc,
Pussycat, Wheely Big Cheese,
Firestorm 3
Qualifiers for the Grand
Final: Hypno-Disc and Firestorm 3
Not as good as last week's
semi final but still a good one. The judges were busy tonight having to
make many decisions. The show also featured the most boring battle in
history said the crowd, judges and Craig! The Hypno-Disc and Dominator 2
battle, well, after Hypno-Disc did enough damage to Dominator 2, they just
did nothing after that because they knew they had won and Dominator 2 just
sat their too doing nothing but they were still mobile. Hypno-Disc didn't
go in for another attack because they didn't want to get damaged and ruin
their chances of getting through to the grand final so both robots just
sat their doing nothing and I don't know why I am talking about it because
there isn't anything to say about it! Anyway, enough of that, despite many
robots being immobilised, there were some good fights. Panic Attack,
Wheely Big Cheese and Firestorm 3 all became immobilised at one stage but
Firestorm 3 won the loser's melee so got through to the final that way.
Wheely Big Cheese did get a chance to flip a robot before they became
immobilised but unfortunately not out of the arena but still a few feet
into the air!

Semi-Final 2 Round 2

FIFTH WARS GRAND FINAL
Transmission date on BBC 2:
01/11/02
Robots (winners from the two
semi-finals): Hypno-Disc, Bigger Brother,
Razer, Firestorm 3
Grand Final Winner: Razer
It has been
and gone and was AWESOME!!!
Fifth Wars Grand Final Round 1
Excellent,
superb action and the carnage created was great. A non-stop thrill of a
fight. Hypno-Disc kept going to Bigger Brother spinning their disc on them
completely trashing Bigger Brother. First big gashes appeared down the
side of Bigger Brother, then big gaping holes, after that the flipper fell
apart and most of it came off. However, the internal organs of Bigger
Brother stayed well and worked well. Hypno-Disc activated the pit release
button and then the shock came as Bigger Brother pushed Hypno-Disc into
the pit and they were no more! Bigger Brother were completely trashed but
they still managed to win!
Fifth Wars Grand Final Round 2
Razer crushed
Firestorm 3. First they grabbed hold of Firestorm, then they punctured the
front and then went for the flipper pushing Firestorm 3 all over the arena
and into the CPZs. Razer's weapon didn't seem as strong as it usually does
and did cause that much damage. The fight went to a judges decision. They
said that it was the closest match they have ever had to judge in the
history of Robot Wars! It came down to damage and Razer had won!
Fifth Wars Grand Final Play-Off
The losers of
each of the previous battles fight together in a match to determine the
winners for third and fourth places of the Fifth Wars. It was a quick match,
they both were pushed around the arena by each other and then both went
into the pit at the same time! The judges called for a re-match, Firestorm
3 accepted but Hypno-Disc said they were immobilised and couldn't proceed
so Firestorm 3 earns third place and Hypno-Disc is fourth seed.
FIFTH WARS Grand Final THE FINAL
Not as good as
I expected it would be but still full of carnage and destruction. Bigger
Brother did a terrific job of getting their machine back up and running
again since their previous encounter with Hypno-Disc. For this battle,
Razer was pushing Bigger Brother around the arena while having them
trapped in their weapon while crushing them all at the same time but they
couldn't finish them off! Unfortunately, it had to go to the judges to
decide the winner and they chose RAZER because they were more aggressive,
stylish and caused more damage to the opposition. Philippa then came on to
the arena to award the (much bigger than before) trophy to the new UK
Robot Wars champions for the Fifth Wars: RAZER!!! Well done to Razer for beating
Bigger Brother and of course on their wonderful win. They have finally
done it, made the champions for the UK of Robot Wars!
